Farnley Readers
Do you love books? Are you often looking for people to discuss literature with? Lots of people love to read, but it can be hard to find someone to discuss the book you're reading - well not any more!

What is Farnley Readers?
We are a local group of fellow bookworms, who read and talk about books based on an agreed-upon reading list. Each month we choose a specific book to read and then discuss at the next meeting. We tend to meet monthly to give folk time to read the next book. Meetings are very informal and sometimes we’ll bring with us some prompt questions to stimulate our brains and keep the conversation flowing! The discussions last no more than an hour but attendees are invited to stick around for a libation of two, and a general gossip! This is a great way to meet new people and make new friends with common interests.
How to Join
Its simple, and free! Just turn up! At the end of each meeting, we agree the next ‘read’ and a date, and we quickly advertise these here on the website, and on the Farnley Tyas Facebook page. Attendees are also invited to join a WhatsApp group to stay connected and updated.
Where Do We Meet?
We tend to meet at the Golden Cock pub, in the function room, usually at 7pm.
Choosing Books
Books are chosen as a group. We tend to take turns on who chooses the next reading material. This is a great way to explore different genres and try fabulous books we may otherwise never have heard about or considered choosing ourselves.
What do you say? Give it ago! We’d love to see you at our next meeting!
